About the Instructor
Joshua Kjerulf Dubrow is an Assistant Professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences and a lecturer at the American Studies Center (ASC). Dr. Dubrow was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and obtained his PhD in 2006 from the Department of Sociology of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Poland in 2007. He has taught at many universities in both the U.S. and Poland on subjects such as Introduction to Sociology, Social Stratification and Mobility, the Sociology of Sport, and Social Research Methods. For the ASC Dr. Dubrow has taught an MA Thesis Seminar since 2008, and recently taught on urban sociology in New York City and September 11, 2001: United States and the World. Dr. Dubrow has published articles and book chapters using a variety of social research methods on the topics of social inequality, gender and politics, political processes, religion and community, and sociology of elites.
